Meet the Secretariat

We are excited to present to you the Secretariat of JMMUN 2025! Together with the spirited chairs and the creative press team, they are striving to make this year’s JMMUN a memorable one for you all!

Saki Jodai

Secretary-General

Welcome to JMMUN! I am Saki Jodai, and I will be serving as the Secretary-General for JMMUN 2025. It is my honour to welcome you all to this year’s conference.
I am in my second year of high school at Senzoku Gakuen, and I have been in the school’s Model United Nations club for five years. I have been involved in JMMUN for two years, serving as a chair for Beginner 1 (UNEP) at JMMUN 2023 and Intermediate 2 (HRC) at JMMUN 2024.
As well as the MUN club, I am also a member of the school’s dance club and debate club. I spent much of my childhood in the UK, and I enjoy listening to and singing songs from the 2010s.
JMMUN is a place where delegates come together from all over the world and it is a great opportunity for you to meet new people and make new bonds; I would highly recommend all delegates to take a step out of their comfort zone and try participating in this conference.
I look forward to meeting you all at JMMUN 2025!

Mizuki Hayakawa

Deputy Secretary-General

Hi, I am Mizuki Hayakawa, and I am extremely delighted to serve you as the Deputy Secretary-General for the 10th JMMUN.
I started Model United Nations five years ago as a club activity, and have always been amazed at how each conference brings so many new perspectives to light, as well as finding MUN as such a fun way to connect with people.
Other than the MUN club, I am in the debate club and the English musical club. I am also a hopeless romantic that loves to read.
I believe that MUN is a great opportunity for us teenagers to learn about current social issues while having fun. Hopefully, all of you can learn something valuable while enjoying the conference at JMMUN 2025!
Looking forward to seeing you all in March!

Mio Hirooka

Head of Press

Hi! My name is Mio Hirooka and I’ll be serving as the Head of Press at JMMUN 2025! I am currently in my second year of high school, and it has been three years since I started MUN.
I spent my elementary school years abroad, and lived in Pennsylvania for two years throughout the age of seven to nine and Toronto, Canada for three years throughout the age of nine to twelve.
Besides MUN, I am also a member of the dance club. Although I don’t have any hobbies in particular, I like drawing pictures and making things. I also really love eating and enjoy any kind of food.
I have been involved in JMMUN for three years as part of the Press team, and am looking forward to this year’s conference as well.

Chise Noguchi

Deputy Head of Press

Hello, I am Chise, and I will be the Deputy Head of Press for JMMUN 2025. Thank you for taking interest in JMMUN.
I have been involved in the Model United Nations as a club member for five years as well as working as a press member for past JMMUNs for four years. I joined the Model United Nations club due to my interest in history and current affairs.
I lived in Singapore for two years in my childhood. I am interested in World History, Physics, and Information Technology. I mostly enjoy reading Non-Fiction and Science Fiction books. The most interesting book series I read recently was the Three Body Problem and my all-time favorite book is the first book of The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy
I look forward to seeing you all at the conference, and hope that you all will enjoy your time at the conference.

JMMUN 2025 is the tenth year of the conference hosted and student-led by Senzoku Gakuen, and the contrast between our first conference and our expectations for our tenth couldn’t be starker. Our first conference invited three partner schools and began a roughshod process of trial and error that would see gradual refinement and growth over the subsequent decade. The leaders of this year’s iteration of the conference have purported as one of their primary goals the wish to smooth every rough edge and to create the most comfortable and polished conference experience so far. The dais hope, more than ever, to make themselves invisible, and to have prepared and encouraged delegates to take center stage and control their committees with thoughtful and charged debate. It is a continued honor that so many schools from Japan and abroad have put their faith in the professionalism of our student team. As an advisor, I have the pleasure each year of sitting back and seeing the effort and commitment of the chairs come together to make a memorable day for everyone, and I know our tenth year is going to be the best conference yet!

This conference marks my fifth serving as press advisor to Senzoku’s Model United Nations (MUN) program and the JMMUN conference. Each year has brought higher and higher levels of ambition, sophistication, and dedication from our students in the planning and staging of conference events. Watching junior high and high school students delve so deeply into complex issues that may define their adult lives and futures leaves me awestruck. The wealth of evidence and understanding that they marshal together in such a short time thoroughly impresses me. MUN participation makes global citizens capable of crossing national boundaries and cultural barriers, demanding that they step outside their classrooms to examine objectively the demands and data of different lands and the vantage points of different eyes. In the process, they confront preconceived notions about other cultures and develop greater capacity for empathy. This year’s theme “Harmony” resides at the heart of this endeavor. MUN works best when it encourages different peoples to realize they are integral parts of one humanity. Given all that MUN represents, I am thrilled to be a part of this year’s conference and the JMMUN Press team.

It is my pleasure to be part of the 2025 JMMUN team. This is the third time I have had the privilege of being involved with the Model United Nations conference at Senzoku. Each year I have been profoundly impressed by the dedication and hard work of those involved; in particular I admire the efforts of the more experienced members to nurture and encourage the involvement of the newest recruits. The JMMUN is an invaluable opportunity to learn more about the world around you and to think about how to solve the myriad of problems that face the global community. The theme for this year’s conference, “Harmony,” is particularly relevant given the conflicts going on in the world today. It is my hope that this conference can inspire a new generation to defeat the prejudices and misconceptions that are the cause of so much friction in the world today. On a more personal note, I enjoy being active and participating in as many outdoor activities as possible, especially snowboarding.
